Alecia Willis, PhD, FACMG

Dr Willis graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee in 1998. She earned a PhD in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics from Vanderbilt

University. She completed a research postdoctoral fellowship in the lab of Dr David Valle at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Maryland and postdoctoral fellowship training in clinical molecular genetics at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas.

Dr Willis is a diplomate of the ABMGG, a fellow of the ACMG, and holds a New York State Department of Health Certificate of Qualification in Genetic Testing (molecular). She serves as a technical director in molecular genetics and genomics.

Willis is a member of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics. She has authored more than 20 articles and abstracts published in such journals as Genetics in Medicine, American Journal of Human Genetics, Human Mutation, Journal of the American Medical Association, and the New England Journal of Medicine.

When not working, Dr Willis enjoys reading, crafting, table top gaming, hiking, and other fitness activities.
